Email: tmdirlam@windlaufergsd.com Our dogs are just another member of our family. Because of this, we enjoy telling people about what they are like, funny stories or sad. That is why I designed this page, to give you an idea of the personality, intelligence, loyalty and temperament of Ana.
Ariana (we'll just use her call name, Ana) was born right here at Windlaufer.
Her father is world famous VA1 Triumphs Gucci and her mother was our own Steffie vom SteinQuelle, out of World Seiger, VA1 Ursus vom Batu. Right from the start, we could tell Ana was going to be an exceptional female. She was inquisitive, bright, outgoing and never gave up on chasing her leather tug or on wanting to bite your hand. Believe it or not, that is actulally a good thing as long as it is channled into the right kind of drive . Even at 5 weeks old, her solid structure was beginning to show. Ana stood out among her litter mates, although all of them seemed to be exceptionally nice puppies. Even so, there was something about Ana that said she would be something special. When the litter was about 7-8 weeks old, we took them down to Russ Osburn for evaluation. We knew which ones we thought were going to be really good, but we also knew that Russ was the real expert and would pull no punches. After evaluating the litter, there was only one that Russ felt really stood out. Ana was his pick. His advice, pointing to Ana: Don't sell her. Keep her and sell the rest. She will be a great dog. In the coming months and years, it was easy to see that Russ was right. The promise that Ana has shown has only improved from her puppy days. When she was shown in the Schutzhund ring for puppy conformation, she took all first places and one second and that was to a half-sister. Watching Ana move is one of my greatest pleasures. If you have seen a Paso Fino horse move or a Lipizzaner then you can relate to how she looks when she is in her "trot' or "gait". It is quite simply, beautiful. Ana is a loving, intellgent, outgoing girl. Always on the look out for something new, she has enegery to spare but wants to be with us where ever we are. She loves to watch me cook. Sometimes I think she is actually learning what I will do next! When we take her out in public, she will watch what is going on and then look at us to see our response to the situation. If we are acting normal, she is satisfied that all is well. If she senses that one of us is tense, she will react by becoming more protective and putting herself between us and what ever is going on around us. Ana wants nothing more than to please her family and has done this very well. Her genetics are some of the best in the world, providing her with grace, intelligence, loyalty, beauty and sound health. Anyone who see's Ana, is always taken by her beauty and friendliness. There are many good examples of what a German Shepherd should be and Ana is one them. Our thanks go out to our trainer, Russ Osburn, for his exceptional wisdom in breeding and knowing a prospect when he sees one. When you choose a puppy from Ana's litter, you are getting one of the best that money and genetics can provide. The breeding will provide world class genetics along with beauty, intelligence, grace and pronounced drive inherited from both parents.
